• The mosaic arrives pre-assembled on a high-durability, flexible fiberglass mesh backing, completely unified and ready for immediate permanent setting.
• Any auxiliary architectural framing or structural borders visualized in our lifestyle renderings—such as external wood or metal frames, pencil liners, bullnose trim profiles, or surrounding layout field tiles—are curated solely for design inspiration and are not included in the crate.
• Artisanal Variance: As each tile is individually hand-chopped, a minor dimensional flexibility of up to +/- 2% is a natural hallmark of authentic stone craftsmanship and should be accounted for during your substrate layout planning.

Your custom artwork arrives as a pre-assembled, single-panel composition bonded securely to a heavy-duty fiberglass mesh backing. It is engineered to be thin-set flat against your substrate utilizing the exact same technological methods applied to premium ceramics or traditional field tiles.

Proportional Partitioning for Large Orders: For large-scale layouts or expansive mosaic murals, our studio masterfully maps and partitions the mosaic into matching, interlocking sections prior to crating. These panels are labeled numerically, allowing your tile contractor to seamlessly execute the installation part-by-part like an elite architectural puzzle.

Step-by-Step Professional Protocol:

1. Unpacking & Inspection: Carefully uncrate and unroll the panels on a flat, clean surface. We include a complimentary selection of loose, matching stone pieces within your crate; these are provided as a convenient artisan reserve should any individual stone require adjustment during final setting.
2. Substrate Preparation: Ensure the target wall or flooring area is structurally sound, clean, and zero-leveled. Remove the protective paper or nylon film backing from the mosaic mesh (do not alter or remove the fiberglass mesh itself). If minor excess mounting adhesive is present on the mesh gaps, gently dress it with a fine spatula.
3. Adhesive Setting: Apply a premium-grade quality tile adhesive uniformly across the substrate. Carefully position the mesh backing directly into the thin-set mortar bed. Utilize a smooth wooden block and rubber mallet to lightly tamp the surface, ensuring a perfectly flush, level orientation with zero awkward transitions. For wall applications, the mosaic can also be permanently bonded to an independent backer board to be mounted as a structural tableau.
4. The Grouting Process: Allow the thin-set mortar bed to cure completely for a minimum of 24 hours. Apply a high-quality NON-sanded tile grout across the stone layout. Select a shade that harmonizes with your palette (such as crisp white, warm cream, soft grey, or deep charcoal). Utilize a rubber grout float to fill the joints. Before the grout dries, gently clean the excess from the marble face using a damp, clean sponge. Crucial Note: Avoid deep, aggressive scrubbing; focus on cleaning the stone faces without scooping out the grout lines between the hand-cut pieces.
5. Artisan Stone Sealing: Once the tile grout has cured fully, protect your investment by applying a premium-quality marble tile sealant available at specialized architectural tile and stone supply centers.Matte Sealant: Preserves the raw, muted, and classic antiqued stone texture.Color-Enriching Sealant: Maximizes color vibrancy, making the natural marble veins pop with deep contrast, mimicking the magnificent look of water touching the stones.The Wet-Sponge Test: To preview the aesthetic difference before sealing, pass a wet sponge across the dry mosaic surface. The wet appearance reflects the result of a color-enriching sealer, while the dry appearance represents a matte finish.
